Industry 4.0 Center of Excellence at Auraria

The Industry 4.0 Center of Excellence at Auraria is here to provide expertise and demonstration facilities to help Colorado’s manufacturers adopt digital transformation technologies that will result in streamlined operations, improved product affordability, and increased competitiveness.

The Center addresses two fundamental issues faced by Colorado’s manufacturers.

1. The ability for manufacturers to de-risk the purchase and integration of advanced manufacturing tools. The Center can alleviate the risk by serving as a demonstration site where companies will ‘try before you buy’ and understand the business case implications for pursuing digital transformation.

2. The ability for future workers to be adequately trained, informed, and prepared for jobs in the advanced manufacturing sector. This will occur through the existing educational foundation of the partner institutions, as well as through targeted and thoughtful programming that will fit the current needs of manufacturers in the region.

The Center helps manufacturers leverage emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), metal additive manufacturing (AM), and machine learning (ML), to increase quality and address predictive maintenance, waste reduction, productivity, and sustainability.

A comprehensive approach encompasses research and development, technology implementation, and workforce upskilling, positioning the manufacturing sector for long-term competitiveness in the global market.
